Dear FRIENDS, NEIGHBORS AND SUPPORTERS;
We hope this letter finds you well, and that you and your loved ones continue to be safe during this pandemic that has disrupted our everyday lives. While the world around us has changed and we find ourselves in unchartered waters, Bethany Place continues to serve the women and children that need our help, as that is what we’ve been called to do.
For over three decades, Bethany Place has been a beacon of hope for the women and children that desire to escape the cycle of abuse. In that time, we have helped over 1,200 women and children trapped in abusive relationships and traumatic life situations events to develop healthier habits and learn the skills necessary to transition to healthier, safer and happier lives.
In addition to being a transitional home for women and children, we have an emergency food pantry that has been serving at-need families since 1989. As you can imagine, recent events have caused an increased demand on our inventory and has nearly depleted what we have in stock.
As you know, Local Emergency Order No. 2020-02 was issued last Thursday forcing us to cease operation of our Christian Bookstore and Thrift Store, which was a large portion of our revenue for our ministry. Without that source of income, we now rely on the charitable contributions of our supporters.
As always, we’ve been blessed by the benevolence and generosity of those within our community to continue our mission of helping the needy. That need for charitable contributions has increased exponentially in recent weeks.
With that being said, we’re hopeful that leaders of industry, community leaders, religious organizations and residents within the community that we live and work in are willing and able to help the women and children of Bethany Place and the at-need population that we serve.
If you are interested in making a financial donation to our ministry, please click the link below. If you can contribute in another way, call me directly at 770.479-9462 to discuss further or please feel free to email me at bethany-place@comcast.net.
Sincerely,
Sandy Reed

Despite the threat of rainy weather hanging in the air, golf enthusiasts took to the course at BridgeMill Friday for the annual Golf Fore Charity tournament held by the BridgeMill Sixes Service League.
After the golfers had finished up their rounds and enjoyed a meal inside Featherstone’s, league officials paid a special tribute to the tournament’s honoree, Cherokee County Sheriff Frank Reynolds. The league also presented Reynolds with a check he was able to turn around and gift to a charity of his choice.
With his check, Reynolds presented $500 to the Bethany Place organization, a faith-based home in Canton providing shelter to women and children who have been abused.

By Rebecca Johnston:
It started life as a chicken house, but today the transformed building is truly a haven for women and children in need of not only shelter from the battering storms of their lives, but also love, hope and kindness.
Bethany Place is a Christian-based ministry which offers a safe haven where women can break the bonds of their past and find hope for a better future. Whether they have suffered from abuse, poverty or drugs, the shelter helps them to transform their lives.
The building itself is a sort of metaphor, because like the women who come there from all walks of life to transform their lives, that old chicken house is now transformed into a lovely, welcoming refuge.

Bethany Boutique will be holding a grand re-opening Saturday, offering a Christian bookstore to the community, as well as a safe haven for women and children.
To accommodate a new vision, the store was closed on July 1 so renovations could take place.
Bethany Boutique was first opened seven years ago as a thrift shop run by the residents of Bethany Place and will hold its re-opening at 10 a.m.
